High-performance cylinders for large general illumination projects

A glimpse into how Meteor's Vela cylinders helped illuminate one of the largest library systems in the United States
The Mid-Continent Public Libraries serves over 780,000 people across three Missouri counties and is one of the largest United States library systems.

The new and renovated branches are designed to embody the future of libraries as community hubs. Designed by SAPP Design Architects, Helix Architecture + Design, and supported by True Engineering, the libraries enrich citizens by expanding access to technology, community events, and areas for children, teens, and adults.

Installed across the 3 branches are 231, Vela 6 Meteor luminaires that were specified at different wattages, that deliver between 4,500 lm to 9,200 lm. Designed over three phases, all branches have an expected completion date of early 2022.

Providing a wide distribution, and soft diffused light. The Vela 6 luminaire enhances visual comfort and offers a cohesive look and feel across the library system.
